Details Inpatient pediatric stepdown unit with 39 beds caring for patients from 2 weeks to 18 years old Unit encompasses all specialties, with 50-60% of patients having some form of technology dependence Patient ratio of 1:3-4 Day shift schedule offered as 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:30) Every other weekend required No on-call responsibilities Float within scope required to meet facility needs Open to accommodating a block schedule Uses Meditech charting system Requirements Active IL RN license required in hand at time of submission (compact licenses not accepted) Current BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Experience with ventilators, tracheostomy, and G-tube care required 1:4 patient ratio experience required Meditech charting experience required Flu vaccine required (medical and religious exemptions accepted) Previous travel nursing experience required Additional Information Acute care unit caring for chronically ill pediatric patients, including those with tracheostomies and chronic ventilator dependence Unit does not include drip, surgical, or transitional patients Care responsibilities include respiratory support, tracheostomy care, and management of gastric tubes First-time travelers will not be considered for this role Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers Previous staff members of the facility or affiliated clinics will not be considered for this assignment Any RTO must be approved and included in the contract prior to start date, with no additions allowed after the contract begins Scrub color is open (any color), with pediatric-themed scrubs encouraged Free parking available in shared lots on facility grounds American Traveler Job ID P-749062.
