Reporting to the Manager of Material Coordination and Project Support, the successful candidate will work with Project Managers, Project Engineering, Project Controls, Supply Chain (SC) Contract Analysts, SC Buyers, SC Expediting & Logistics, and other key stakeholder positions to enable efficient and effective identification, requisitioning and coordination of materials required for Projects. The core accountability of this role is to ensure that project materials for delivered on time and to the correct location to support Project timelines.What you’ll doIncorporate material lead time estimates from SC and develop a schedule for placing material orders in time to meet the project schedule.Review Technical Drawings with a high level of attention to details.Review Bill of Material (BOM) with Project Engineer to identify materials to be supplied by TC, its Fabricators, or its Construction Contractor. Typical milestones where this occurs include 30%, 60%, and 90% design, and a final review of IFCs to confirm all materials are captured in the Material Coordinators tracking sheet.Coordinate design deliverables from Project Engineering or the ESP to SC for the timely occurrence of Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and subsequent awards according to the Material Matrix schedule.Work with Materials Management and Warehouse team to identify available inventory and\or surplus materials.Create SAP purchase requisitions (and/or SAP reservations for materials in inventory) based on design Bills of Materials provided by Project Engineering.Create a request for a new Material Master if the existing SAP material catalogue does not provide appropriate alternatives.Monitor and assist with materials expediting of critical components.Work with project disciplines (Engineering, Purchasing, Expediting, Logistics, Warehousing, Fabrication, and Construction) to update Material Status Report with quantities, timelines, and material whereabouts.Help locate documents and records, including Material Test Records (MTRs), associated with project materials which are required in support of construction and commissioning activities.Resolve material discrepancies (e.g., quantities, quality, or supporting documentation) within each functional group.Work with Expeditors to anticipate issues relating to materials (i.e., late deliveries, material shortages, or damages) and develop and execute recovery plans.Ensure Supplier and Fabricator deliveries are expedited on a predetermined schedule to ensure RAS (required at site) dates are met.Provide field-based construction team with relevant documentation.Instruct the Warehouse to release and issue the materials to the Fabricator, or from the Fabricator to the site \ laydown yard and ultimately to the Construction Contractor.Coordinate physical receipt of material at the Warehouse, project site\laydown yard, Fabricator and\or Construction Contractor.Enter Goods Receipts for all items in SAP (except those delivered to TC warehouses – warehouse personnel will typically handle).Identify surplus materials to be transferred to inventory and/or investment Recovery.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent5 years related experience in a Project environment within the oil and gas, pipeline, or power industriesPast material management (coordination, buying, logistics etc) experienceGeneral knowledge of material and equipment used in pipeline and facilities constructionAbility to manage multiple high priority projects and competing prioritiesPreferred QualificationsPost-Secondary Education in a related fieldExperience with piping materials, valves, and fittingsAbility to read engineered design drawings and Bill of MaterialsSuperior computer skills, particularly experience with relevant SAP system modules including advanced training in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and highly proficient SAP user (requisitioning & receiving)Superior written and oral communication skills, project management skills, analytical and problem-solving skills To remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. #LI-HybridAbout our businessWe are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
