A global B2B events organisation within the healthcare sector is seeking a VP of Commercial to enhance commercial effectiveness, strengthen sales capabilities, and support revenue growth across its healthcare portfolio. The organisation creates industry-focused events and platforms that bring together healthcare professionals, organisations, and solution providers, enabling business connections, partnerships, and market development opportunities. About the Role

Reporting to senior commercial leadership, the VP of Commercial will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that improve sales effectiveness, operational discipline, and revenue performance across the healthcare events portfolio. This role will work closely with commercial leaders and cross-functional teams to establish best practices, improve sales processes, strengthen forecasting capabilities, enhance sales enablement, and create scalable frameworks that support continued growth. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with strong execution skills, using data, insights, and commercial expertise to identify opportunities for improvement and drive measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commercial excellence initiatives to improve sales effectiveness, productivity, and revenue performance across the healthcare events portfolio.
• Develop and optimise sales processes, pipeline management practices, sales cycles, and commercial operating rhythms.
• Establish consistent forecasting methodologies, reporting frameworks, and performance measurement practices.
• Use data and analytics to identify opportunities for improvement and support informed commercial decision-making.
• Develop and deliver sales enablement initiatives, including training programmes, coaching frameworks, and capability development.
• Partner with sales leadership to improve execution standards and drive adoption of commercial best practices.
• Design and support sales incentive strategies in partnership with Sales, Finance, and other key stakeholders.
• Improve consistency and adoption of CRM systems, sales tools, and commercial processes.
• Support recruitment strategies and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to attract and hire high-performing commercial talent.
• Develop initiatives that increase sales engagement, motivation, accountability, and performance.
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, HR, Marketing, and executive leadership to support commercial objectives.
• Drive initiatives focused on customer retention, repeat business, and long-term revenue growth.
• Build a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and commercial excellence.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in commercial leadership, sales operations, sales enablement, revenue operations, or sales transformation roles.
• Proven track record of improving sales effectiveness and driving revenue growth through process optimisation and commercial strategy.
• Strong understanding of sales methodologies, forecasting, CRM systems, sales enablement, incentive structures, and performance analytics.
• Experience building scalable commercial frameworks and improving sales execution across complex organisations.
• Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change without relying on direct authority.
• Experience working in global, fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.
• Excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and strong commercial judgement.
• Ability to operate effectively in a complex and evolving organisation.
• Ability to work from an office environment several days per week.
