Job Overview Job no: 528918 Work type: Instructional Faculty - Temporary/Lecturer Location: San José Department Summary The School of Journalism and Mass Communications prepares students to excel in advertising, journalism, and public relations by teaching professional skills, advanced information technologies, and critical analysis. Brief Description of Duties Demonstrate awareness of and address the needs of a diverse student population through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement. Organize all classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Ensure all classes meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, bi‑chronous, in‑person, or hybrid). Required Qualifications Master’s degree with significant industry experience. Knowledge of the subject matter of the discipline to which the individual is assigned. Ability to teach and evaluate adult learners; evidence of satisfactory achievement in previous academic work. Awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population. Compensation Compensation is determined by qualifications and experience. Anticipated starting salary ranges are. Range 2 – $5,507 – $5,959 per month. Range 3 – $6,221 – $7,481 per month. Range 4 – $6,825 – $9,431 per month. Range 5 – $8,593 – $10,347 per month. Full‑time annual salary equals the monthly rate times 12, with six monthly payments per semester.
