Job Overview

Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a Staff Accountant for a well-established manufacturing company in Northwest Illinois. This position will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close activities, and account reconciliations while helping maintain accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reconciliations.

  • Assist with cash management activities, including reporting, payments, transfers, and cash flow analysis.

  • Support month-end close processes, journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory analysis, and financial reporting.

  • Prepare recurring reports and assist with regulatory filings and registrations.

  • Provide audit support by gathering documentation and responding to information requests.

  • Participate in special projects, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Serve as a backup for other accounting team members as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

  • 2+ years of accounting experience preferred, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of GAAP; IFRS experience is a plus.

  • Experience with ERP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Office-based position in a climate-controlled environment.

  • Monday through Friday schedule with start times between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
