Sales Account Manager

LG Chem seeks a Technical Sales Manager to join its EP Sales team based in Troy, M. The role is focused on driving growth in the North American market by developing new customers and expanding our Engineering Plastics business (PC, PBT, PA, mPPO, TPEE). The position will build strong customer relationships, identify market opportunities, and support the commercialization of tailored material solutions while collaborating with internal teams to align on business strategy and operational effectiveness. What You’ll Be Doing Develop new customers and expand market opportunities for Engineering Plastics (PC, PBT, PA, mPPO, TPEE) across North America to drive revenue growth. Proactively engage with customers through regular meetings and communication to understand requirements, propose solutions, and strengthen long‑term relationships. Analyze market and industry trends to support effective pricing strategies and maximize sales performance and profitability. Oversee and coordinate shipment logistics within SAP to ensure timely and accurate product delivery. Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable to minimize aging balances and support timely collections. Conduct market research and provide regular insights and reporting on market conditions, customer activity, and competitive landscape. Collaborate with headquarters and cross‑functional teams to support business expansion and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications, Skills and Experiences Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for Chemical Engineering. 5–10 years of experience in engineered plastics, plastics or chemical/technical products. Experience in the polymer business, particularly working with distributors and suppliers, is a plus. Experience in the North American automotive industry is a plus. Proven track record of success in B2B sales, ideally within petrochemical manufacturers, distributors, or trading companies focused on engineered plastics. Korean language skills are a plus to support communication with global stakeholders, including customers and headquarters. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Familiarity with SAP (ERP systems) is a plus. Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%. Demonstrated ability to build relationships, collaborate cross‑functionally, and influence stakeholders.
