Transition Specialist II

Gilbane is seeking a Transition Consultant to be responsible for the planning, implementation and tactical execution of all project activities on a transition project, either individually or through supervision of less senior project staff. Transition Project Manager II’s may also bring a specific technical expertise, developed through “real time” project management experience required to perform a specific task order or project. This role will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings, meetings, etc. Who are we? ResponsibilitiesTake accountability for development of project implementation plansSupervise and provide guidance to project staff in all matters involving written and verbal communicationCommunicate information at multiple levels within the client’s organizationCoordinate and manage move vendor deliveries to ensure timely and accurate executionProvide onsite support during the physical relocation of staff, ensuring smooth transitionsSupport planning and execution of move logistics and sequencingAct as a key point of coordination for day-to-day move management activitiesAssist the project team with delivery and distribution of move materialPlay a critical role in a highly move-management-focused environment, ensuring efficiency and minimal disruptionOperate with a high level of independence, serving as the local point of contact while collaborating with remote team membersEstablish project protocols for project specific types of documentationPlan and implement competitive procurements as requiredPrepare project monthly reports including costs, schedule, safety, etc.Monitor adherence to the contractAssert the authority and decision making required for managing the assigned project or project taskGain exposure to financial project management and accountabilityProvide direction to sub-contractors as required and consistent with the client’s directionAct as owner’s representative in managing onsite vendors during activation and move timeframesSupports a positive and inclusive work environment QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONBS or MS degree in related field3 - 7 years of project management or specialized experienceOr equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel Powerpoint, Project, Access, and Visio)Excellent listening skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsConstruction document and drawing literate with knowledge of all phases of constructionKnowledge of BIM360, CADD, BluebeamDetailed knowledge of at least one TPM market sector, such as healthcare, government/military, research and development/laboratory, or higher educationAbility to travel and flexibility to work weekends and evenings as necessary***The initial project is located in Sacramento, CA however, future assignments and for non-local candidates projects may require up to 60% travel.***Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.For Sacramento and Concord, CA this ranges from $85,000.00-$105,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
