Family Law Associate Attorney

Contreras Law Firm is a fast-growing, women-owned family law and litigation firm in Emerald Plaza in downtown San Diego. We’re looking for a sharp, motivated Family Law Associate Attorney who’s ready to level up. If you have 3–5 years of experience and want real courtroom time, hands‑on strategy, and a team that actually backs you, this is your role. Our cases span divorce, custody and visitation, support, modifications, property division, domestic violence, stepparent adoptions, guardianships, and surrogacy. You’ll work directly with clients, take the lead on meaningful matters, and grow your litigation instincts with the support of experienced trial attorneys. Responsibilities Representing clients in all aspects of family law Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery with precision and purpose Conducting legal research and advising clients on strategy Negotiating settlements and participating in mediation Appearing in court for hearings, trials, and deposition work Managing your caseload while building strong client relationships Requirements JD from an accredited law school and active CA Bar membership 3–5 years of family law experience Solid writing, research, and analytical skills Courtroom confidence and genuine interest in expanding trial skills Strong communication and negotiation ability Ability to work independently but thrive in a team environment Organized, detail‑driven, and able to manage multiple demands Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
