PositionSummary ProvidesstructuralengineeringsupportforDSI'sHVACandplumbingmechanicalprojects,focusedonequipmentsupport,seismicbracing/anchorage,andstructuralcoordinationformechanicalsystems.Workscloselywithmechanicalengineersanddesignerstoensuremechanicalequipmentisproperlysupportedandstructurallycoordinatedwiththebuilding.ThisisasupportroletoDSI'scoremechanicalscope—notastand-alonestructuraldesignpractice. KeyResponsibilities Designequipmentsupports,housekeepingpads,andstructuralattachmentsformechanicalequipment(rooftopunits,chillers,boilers,piping,ductwork,etc.) Performseismicbracingandanchoragecalculationsformechanicalequipmentanddistributionsystemsperapplicablecoderequirements Coordinatestructuralloadingofmechanicalequipmentwiththestructuralengineerofrecordandgeneralcontractor Reviewstructuraldrawingsforcoordinationwithmechanicalequipmentweights,locations,andsupportrequirements Supportsitevisitsandfieldcoordinationtoverifystructuralsupportsmatchmechanicalequipmentrequirements ReviewandrespondtoRFIsrelatedtostructural-mechanicalcoordinationduringconstruction Ensurestructuralscopetiedtomechanicalsystemscomplieswithapplicablebuildingcodesandseismicrequirements RequiredQualifications Bachelor'sdegreeinStructuralorCivilEngineering(structuralemphasis)orrelatedfield 4–8years'experienceinstructuraldesign,ideallywithexposuretomechanicalequipmentsupportandseismicbracing Workingknowledgeofequipmentanchorage,seismicdesignrequirements,andstructuralloadinganalysis Abilitytoreadandinterpretmechanicalandstructuralconstructiondocuments Strongcoordinationandcommunicationskillsforworkingacrossmechanicalandstructuraltrades PreferredQualifications PElicenseorEIT(Structural) Experiencewithmechanicalcontractorordesign-buildprojectdelivery FamiliaritywithRevitStructureorsimilarBIMcoordinationtools BenefitsHighlights Competitivebasesalarycommensuratewithexperience 401(k)planwithcompanymatch Comprehensivemedical,dental,andvisioncoverage Paidholidays,vacation,andpersonaltime Training,professionaldevelopment,andsupportforlicensure/professionalassociationdues Performance-basedbonusopportunity PIea86215285f2-37344-41304744
