Organization VUH JAT 11 Neuroscience Stepdown Job Summary Apply the nursing process to plan and deliver care for adult patients (18+) undergoing acute neurological conditions such as stroke, hemorrhagic events, seizures, Guillain‑Barré syndrome, and spinal cord injury. Coordinate care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the health‑care team to achieve optimal outcomes. Shift Full‑time night shift: 7:00 pm–7:00 am, three nights per week (36 hours total), including weekends. Key Responsibilities Collaborate to develop a care plan and coordinate delivery across the continuum. Perform comprehensive assessments to determine nursing diagnoses. Use the nursing process to monitor progress toward goals and apply interventions. Promote health and safety for patients and staff. Technical Capabilities Care Planning: anticipate resource needs, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments. Patient Education: provide foundational education at moderate difficulty. Patient Assessment & Evaluation: conduct history, physical exam, recognize problems, and engage the broader team. Evidence‑Based Practice: search for clinical evidence and apply it under supervision. Qualifications Registered Nurse with current licensure. Minimum 1 year of nursing experience. Graduate of an approved nursing or related program. Benefits Health plan options (high‑quality).
