Note to Candidates: We strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don't believe you meet every one of the qualifications described. Habitat is an organization committed to building a diverse and inclusive organization which means that we recognize that sometimes the best candidate may have a less traditional background. We acknowledge that requirements for educational and experience minimums create invisible barriers for historically oppressed populations in pursuit of employment. Combined with our equity practices, we focus on candidates' abilities to excel within the responsibilities of the position, based on their experience found inside and outside formal education and/or work history. We welcome applicants from all communities, and strongly encourage Black, indigenous, and people of color, women, people with disabilities, immigrants, and members of the LGBTQ+ community to apply for this position. Who You Are: You understand that strong communications work depends on both creativity and thoughtful project management. You're a strategic thinker who enjoys helping teams move from ideas to execution through clear planning, collaboration, and communication. You thrive in high-volume environments where priorities shift, timelines overlap, and strong organization and attention to detail are essential. In this role, you'll focus on coordinating and improving communications workflows and processes, with responsibility for managing projects and supporting team effectiveness. You're an excellent listener who knows how to ask thoughtful questions, uncover needs, and build trust with both teammates and internal clients. You're skilled at translating requests into actionable project plans while balancing organizational priorities, team capacity, and deadlines. You enjoy bringing clarity to complexity and helping teams stay focused, aligned, and moving forward. You're proactive and take initiative to identify potential roadblocks, improve processes, and anticipate future communications needs before they become urgent. You're comfortable analyzing workloads, forecasting team capacity, and helping leadership make strategic decisions about priorities and resource allocation. You bring experience managing projects within a marketing, communications, or creative environment, and you understand the unique workflows involved in content creation, design, campaigns, storytelling, and production. In addition to project management expertise, you also have strong writing and editing skills and are excited to support communications work. Most importantly, you're energized by mission-driven work and enjoy supporting a collaborative, creative team that helps bring Habitat for Humanity's stories and impact to life. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and build strong working relationships across departments. Be confident leading conversations with clarity, empathy, professionalism, and accountability while setting realistic expectations and guiding decision-making. Take initiative to solve problems, improve processes, identify gaps, and keep projects moving forward with minimal oversight. Have strong writing and editing skills, including the ability to support communications work and review materials for clarity, accuracy, tone, and brand consistency. Your Work Schedule: 40-hour work week, generally Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:30pm Occasionally you may be asked to work overtime Your Compensation: We aim to offer competitive pay and benefits and are committed to equity and transparency in compensation. Basing compensation on a candidate's willingness and/or ability to negotiate leads to inequities and bias in how employees are compensated, particularly for historically oppressed groups. Instead, we determine the best possible compensation offer based on base qualifications, relevant experience, internal equity, and the candidate's competencies for the role demonstrated during the hiring process. Successful candidates are typically hired within the first half of the Pay Range and receive scheduled incremental increases.
