The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of equipment, machinery, and infrastructure across our chemical storage and distribution facilities. This role leads the maintenance team, manages preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and ensures all work is performed in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, leadership experience, and a background in industrial or chemical facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule, and supervise the maintenance team, including technicians and contractors, across storage and distribution facilities.
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for pumps, valves, piping, tanks, loading/unloading systems, and material handling equipment.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations, particularly those governing hazardous materials and process equipment.
• Coordinate with the Safety team to ensure lockout/tagout, confined space entry, hot work permits, and other safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues, and direct timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Manage maintenance budgets, parts inventory, and vendor/contractor relationships to control costs and ensure availability of critical spares.
• Oversee facility infrastructure maintenance, including containment systems, fire suppression, ventilation, and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and documentation to support audits and regulatory inspections.
• Lead root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce recurring issues.
• Support capital improvement projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades from planning through execution.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, industry codes, and internal engineering standards for all repairs and installations.
• Train and develop maintenance staff on technical skills, safety procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance management experience, preferably within chemical storage, distribution, manufacturing, or industrial facilities.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation knowledge, with experience maintaining pumps, valves, tanks, and material handling equipment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and hazardous materials handling regulations as they relate to facility maintenance.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and maintenance planning/scheduling.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach, develop, and hold technicians accountable.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work on-site at a chemical storage and distribution facility, including occasional exposure to warehouse and outdoor environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb throughout warehouse, storage, and mechanical areas for extended periods.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection, as needed.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to respond to maintenance emergencies outside of standard working hours as needed.
