RN - Cardiology Stepdown

The J72 unit is a 25‑bed cardiology stepdown telemetry unit that provides fast‑paced nursing care to a select medical cardiac patient population that includes myocardial infarction, post‑cardiac intervention, chronic heart failure, dysrhythmia management and pulmonary hypertension. As a New Grad RN Resident on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send‑off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. A caregiver in this position works a day/night rotation from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care. Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions. Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Educate patients and their families. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program). Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). One year of current acute care RN experience; military RN experience will be considered. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. If working in a Critical Care area, an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) certification must be presented upon hire or within the first year of employment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $35.50 Maximum hourly: $55.60 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
