Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for providing specialized nursing care to adult patients in a Telemetry unit, ensuring high-quality patient monitoring and treatment. The role involves working across multiple units, including med-surg tele, ED hold, and float assignments, with a focus on patient safety, assessment, and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and facility protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment, promptly identifying abnormalities.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans.
• Respond to patient emergencies with appropriate interventions, including notifying respiratory and other supporting services.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, maintaining compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Valid NY RN license required at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a telemetry or medical-surgical setting.
• Current BLS certification required; CMSRN preferred.
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is mandatory.
• NIHSS certification required prior to start.
• Must have a minimum of one year of experience in a related specialty.
