Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Registered Nurse Progressive Care Unit
Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7p - 7a)
Weekend Requirements: Typically every other weekend
Holiday Requirements: Must work 2 out of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year's Day/Eve)
Contract Length: 16-26 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: As per contract
License: NY RN License or proof of application
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (required prior to start)
Experience: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience, specifically in telemetry
EMR: Experience with EPIC within the past 2 years (non-negotiable)
Unit-specific skills: Experience with insulin drips, cardiac drips, starting IVs, and post-cardiac catheterization
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a progressive care setting
- Monitor patients with cardiac diagnoses and other acute conditions
- Administer medications and manage IV infusions as per protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care
Compliance / Notes:
- Orientation: 1-2 days
- Dress Code: Navy blue or white scrubs, closed toe nonskid shoes, minimal jewelry, professional grooming
- Transportation: Personal vehicle or rental recommended; public transportation is not accessible
- Floating: Required to float to appropriate units as part of the Resource Float team
