About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Acute Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Experience in general medical settings; strong teamwork and communication skills Description: Local rate applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within a specified radius. There is a call-off policy allowing for shifts without penalty. All clinicians must produce a negative drug screen for all panels. Patient ratios are 1:4/5 on day shift and 1:5/6 on night shift. The unit has 20 beds and provides care to general medical patients. Charge nurses are present 24 hours a day. The charge nurse ideally does not have a patient assignment but may take patients if short-staffed. House supervisors are also available 24/7. Patient care technicians are on the unit 24 hours per day, with ratios of 1:6/7 during days and 1:10 during nights. Telemetry monitoring is available, but bedside RNs do not read strips, which are monitored centrally. Nurses work 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation required. There may be call or standby requirements based on staffing needs. Travel nurses are prioritized for floating if necessary. There is no specific scrub color preference for nursing staff. Unit-specific orientation will be provided.
