The EHS Manager will implement, oversee, and adapt policies and programs to improve the organization's environmental, health and safety performance and objectives, ensure it complies with current and applicable future regulations and standards, and protect its reputation.THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITIONWHAT YOU’LL DOAs the EHS Subject Matter Expert, you will be able to work independently and ensure organization complies with relevant regulations and internal standards/policiesManage environmental staff including coach, promote professional development, and set/evaluate performance goalsDevelop and implement site EHS Strategic Plan that supports Division/Corporate PlanAble to balance business needs with EHS requirementsDrive EHS performance, reduce site Risk Profile, and provide EHS support to other functional areasCommunicate EHS performance to Site LeadershipPrepare for and coordinate internal audits and regulatory inspectionsIdentify options for special EHS projects and manage/execute in a timely manner and within budgetPrepare/coordinate reports for internal and external regulatory submissionsEnsure facility meets Division EHS targets and objectivesDevelop EHS training programsMaintain relationships with the community, environmental groups, and stakeholders impacted by the EHS performance of the organizationStay abreast of proposed EHS regulations, assess impact of draft proposals on the business, and ensure facility readiness to comply with promulgated laws. Benchmark with peer companiesDevelop and meet EHS Department budgetEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRINGRequiredBachelors Degree ( 16 years)in Safety, Health, Environmental Science, Technical or a related discipline.Experience/BackgroundFive to twelve years’ experience in environmental, health and safety is required.A minimum of two years supervisory experience is required.Must possess: sound judgment and problem-solving skill, strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal and consulting skills, good organizational and computer skills, consistent customer orientation and a multi-disciplinary function.Responsible for initiation, prioritization and assignment of EHS projects within the facility.Responsible for the overall EHS performance of the facility.Coordinates the investigation of serious accidents.Accountable for internal and external audits and inspections.Accountable for the facility EHS plan, site EHS procedure accuracy, effectiveness and implementation.WHAT WE OFFER At Abbott, you can have a good job that can grow into a great career.
