Personnel Employment Assistant - Richmond, VA

Position Overview Personnel Employment Assistant – Supporting the Navy Recruiting Command in Richmond, VA. The hourly pay for this position is $19.91 per hour, plus an additional $4.93 per hour for Health and Welfare benefits. The role is covered by the Service Contract Act and prevailing wage rates. The position is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Responsibilities Provide direct support to program administrators by performing administrative tasks such as typing, editing, and distributing correspondence. Prepare personal awards and engrave names and command logo on plaques per standards. Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and visitors. Schedule and plan meetings/appointments, including conference calls. Liaise with staff members, applicants and the general public daily. Develop and maintain filing systems for applicant files and related documents. Assist with distribution, photocopying, faxing, mailing, and routine correspondence. Coordinate, compile, and maintain data for monthly/quarterly/annual reports. Assist in screening, reviewing, and verifying applicant enlistment paperwork and updating documents in automated personnel data systems. Organize, collect, analyze, and present statistical information on applicant tracking, goal attainment, and marketing analysis. Prepare reports for Program Managers and higher level personnel, detailing recurring problems, corrective actions, and resource needs. Obtain workload data and track progress using web-based Navy applications and other commercial programs. Qualifications U.S. citizenship. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. High School Diploma or GED (BS/MS degrees may be considered for experience). 1 year of working experience. Ability to travel up to 10%. Additional Desired Experience and Skills High proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint). Experience editing and formatting documents in accordance with SECNAV awards instruction and Navy Correspondence Manual. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
