Field Technician - Shop Operations - ILI

Overview Job Title : Shop & Field Technician - ILI Department : Operations Location : Houston, Texas The general role for the shop and field technician is to ensure the proper preparation for and execution of fieldwork and coordination of the field activities. Responsibilities Comply always and fully with PIPECARE Group HSE requirements Be quality conscious (dynamic approach towards quality improvement and aim at getting things right first time) Maintain confidentiality, integrity and safeguard PIPECARE trade secrets Always respect and support fellow employees Respond to changes positively (technical advancements as well as organizational adaptations) Act in such a manner that PIPECARE’s reputation is highly respected Be results-oriented; alert others timely when a task may not produce the required result for PIPECARE’s final product Follow PIPECARE’s Process Flow Charts and interact with other departments when required Assure timely and accurate reporting to PIPECARE Identify training requirements Job Functions, Responsibilities & Authorities Review and analyze project documentation, operation manuals, pigging procedures, and other related materials Develop and maintain professional relationships with the client's field and project management teams, fostering positive working relations Coordinate field activities between the PIPECARE team, other contractors, clients, and all involved parties Assemble, prepare, pack, and transport ILI tools and auxiliary equipment to and from the project site Calibrate, verify calibration, inspect, and test inspection equipment prior to mobilization Conduct thorough pre- and post-run inspections of ILI tools to ensure proper functionality and adherence to operational standards Complete tool preparation, checklists, project procedures, and job safety analysis documentation Provide support and service during equipment setup, tool launching, and receiving Launch, track, and receive ILI tools, clean, and re-pack equipment after each run Operate hand/power tools, hoists, forklifts, cranes, and other required equipment Perform troubleshooting and repairs of ILI tools, AGMs, transmitters, receivers, and other related equipment Verify the quality of ILI and AGM data, generate, review, and submit field and other reports in a timely manner Disassemble, clean, and maintain cleaning, gauging, ILI, and other tools and equipment post-project Promote and maintain a safe and professional work environment, executing fieldwork in a safe, effective, and efficient manner in line with PIPECARE QA/QC procedures and project timelines Participate in training as needed and assist junior field technicians with their training and professional development Conduct site and DGPs surveys in accordance with PIPECARE Group procedures and operational requirements Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for seamless field operations Document all maintenance activities to ensure detailed records for quality control and continuous process improvement Exercise stop-work authority when encountering unsafe conditions or behaviors that may lead to incidents or accidents Perform additional duties within the scope of the assigned role Competency Requirements Communication: Facilitates two-way communication, promotes positive relationships with clients and colleagues, and proactively resolves conflicts Oral Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively, listens attentively, and responds effectively to questions and requests. Adaptable and responsive to change Administrative Management: Manages administrative tasks to ensure quality and timeliness, including the preparation of accurate sales reports and data analysis for trend forecasting Accountability Timely Project execution within the assigned job role Perform and complete the job successfully Submit all data and reports complete and in a timely manner Skills / Experience Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or relevant) plus 3 years of operation planning experience Experience in Oil and Gas sector, preferably with ILI exposure Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and machinery Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods Good social skills with the ability to communicate clearly Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level Fluency in English, the language of the Territory is an advantage Ability to travel extensively in the US and globally Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to work in diverse environments, including outdoor field locations and controlled shop settings Must be physically fit to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity Willingness to work flexible hours, including extended shifts, weekends, and travel assignments Physical and Mental Requirements Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary About PIPECARE Group PIPECARE Group offers comprehensive In-Line Inspection Services to identify and size pipeline threats, utilizing advanced technologies such as Magnetic Flux Leakage, Transverse Field Inspection, Ultrasound, and specialized tools, PIPECARE ensures precise detection and assessment of various pipeline anomalies.
