Job Title Infection Preventionist III - Clifton Springs Hospital, Operations - Professional (Per Diem) Status Per Diem Location Clifton Springs Hospital – 2 Coulter Road, Clifton Springs, NY 14432 Department Operations - Professional Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Summary Supports the Infection Prevention Program for the assigned organization; serves as a liaison to all assigned organization departments/services. Develops and assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to infection prevention. Advises on and facilitates appropriate allocation of hospital resources in order to maintain quality patient care. Responsibilities Conduct surveillance and analyze data to identify, monitor, and report healthcare-associated and community-acquired infections while ensuring regulatory compliance. Lead infection prevention initiatives by performing risk assessments, investigating infection clusters, and implementing strategies to reduce infections. Develop, review, and update infection prevention policies, procedures, and best practices based on current evidence and regulatory standards. Serve as a subject matter expert by providing consultation, education, and training to clinical teams, committees, and Infection Prevention liaisons. Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and public health agencies to support infection control efforts, regulatory reporting, and continuous quality improvement. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a health‑related field (e.g., Nursing, Medical Technologist, Public Health). Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience (e.g., nursing, clinical laboratory, public health). Two (2) years or more required in Infection Prevention. Required Licensure Registered Nurse license in New York State. Certification in Infection Control (CIC). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Physical Requirements Expected to perform sedentary work. May involve walking or standing for brief periods. Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Pay Range $90,000.00 – $105,000.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full‑time applicant. It may be modified in the future and is eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
