Overhaul & Repair Process Mechanic B 2nd Shift (Onsite) Location: East Hartford, CT, USA Date Posted: 2026-05-20 Shift: 3:12pm – 11:42pm Citizenship Requirement: U.S. citizenship is required. What You Will Do: Plan and perform the work necessary to set up and operate various manual and automatic part treatment, heat treat, flame spray and coating equipment. Perform work on overhaul & repair parts where methods and techniques are usually established, and proper tooling and/or fixturing is usually provided. Perform brazing/fabrication prep, assembly and masking as required to meet unit needs. Follow standard practices and operating procedures to perform a variety of stripping, cleaning, and brazing operations, utilizing surface treatment equipment such as manual and automatic grit blasters, water jet machines, and dry baking ovens. Set up and operate automatic and manual flame spray, plating, painting and coating equipment for operations on a variety of overhaul & repair parts. Set up and operate, load and unload, and monitor heat treat furnaces for brazing heat treat, stress relief, and sizing operations. Perform routine maintenance and servicing of spray units, guns and nozzles, seals, fittings and filters in the assigned area; follow specified procedures such as operator checklists to ensure equipment operates properly. Assist others responsible for new part process tryout, repair and other specialized assignments within the scope and skill level of this job description. Refer difficulties to the leader/supervisor. May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills. May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, and certifications within the assigned area. Qualifications You Must Have: High School Diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years of plasma coatings experience. Preferred Qualifications: Priority consideration is given to individuals who are internal Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations). Other Requirements: This position is FAA regulated and considered safety-sensitive. Candidates will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulations (14 CFR part 120, 49 CFR part 40). The role is onsite and requires commuting to the assigned site.
