Job Title: FL-DOT-Ocoee-Turnpike-Accountant Client: Florida Temp Staffing Location: Turkey Lake Service Plaza, MM263, Bldg 5315, Ocoee, FL 34761 Overview Preparation and presentation of the Turnpike System's financial information as required by GAAP, the Department of Transportation (Department) and the Department of Financial Services (DFS) requirements. Responsibilities Assist with the Turnpike's year-end and mid-year financial reporting closing processes. Prepare necessary accrual, adjusting and/or correcting entries, analyze pre-closing trial balances for accuracy and appropriateness, and ensure all Department closing requirements are met in a timely manner. Research capital project expenses and reclassify them as fixed assets. Review and evaluate current processes relating to financial reporting and reconciliations. Recommend improvements as deemed appropriate and develop action plans for their implementation. Document policies and procedures. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Ability to review fiscal data for accuracy and completeness. Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
