Sr Staff Accountant

Job Summary A growing manufacturing organization in Ontario, CA is seeking a hands-on Sr Staff Accountant for a full-time, direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning the details, supporting month-end close, improving AR and AP processes, and helping develop junior accounting team members. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to continue growing technically while building leadership capability. The Sr Staff Accountant will work closely with accounting leadership in a collaborative, team-focused environment where accountability, communication, process improvement, and career development are valued. For the right person, this position offers a meaningful path toward expanded responsibility and potential advancement into an Accounting Manager role. Key Responsibilities Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, schedules, and account analysis. Oversee Accounts Receivable processes, including invoicing, cash applications, credits, deductions, collections, AR aging, and customer account issue resolution. Provide visibility and support for Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing, vendor discrepancies, payment requirements, documentation, and controls. Review work prepared by junior accounting staff, provide coaching, assist with prioritization, and serve as a day-to-day escalation point for accounting questions. Investigate variances, discrepancies, unusual activity, and accounting issues while recommending timely corrective action. Support process improvements, SOP documentation, ERP or reporting initiatives, audit requests, and cross-functional accounting support. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $75,000 to $85,000 per year. Employment type: Direct hire, full-time. Work arrangement: On-site in Ontario, California.
