Position Overview We are seeking 3–4 Staff Attorneys to join our dedicated Tenants’ Rights Unit . This role provides direct client advocacy, courtroom representation, and litigation support to protect tenant rights and housing stability in our community. This opportunity is ideal for newly barred attorneys or experienced advocates seeking meaningful, hands‑on litigation experience while making a lasting social impact. Key Responsibilities Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and trials regarding tenants' rights and housing issues. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal correspondence. Conduct client intake, case evaluations, factual investigations, and legal research. Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediations, and administrative proceedings. Collaborate with colleagues, local community organizations, and legal partners to support housing stability and tenant protection initiatives. Qualifications & Ideal Background Florida Bar Admission: Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar required. Experience Level: Open to newly licensed/barred attorneys up to 6+ years of experience (1–6 years preferred). Litigation Exposure: Strong preference for candidates with experience in motion practice, discovery, pleadings, hearings, or general litigation. Background: Prior experience with a Public Defender’s Office, State Attorney’s Office, legal aid organization, non-profit, or public interest group is a plus. Candidates coming from other practice areas are welcome if they possess litigation exposure and a demonstrated commitment to public service. Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole is highly sought after (not required). Location: Candidates must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the Miami office location to accommodate the hybrid work model. Compensation & Bonus Structure Starting Salary (Tiered by Florida Bar Admission Year): Newly Admitted FL Bar Attorneys: $75,000 2024 Admit: $79,000 2023 Admit: $80,000 2022 Admit: $81,000 2021 Admit: $82,000 2020 Admit: $83,000 2019 Admit: $84,000 Annual Bonus: Eligible after completing the first full year of employment. Paid annually in December based on established performance criteria. Typical annual bonus range: $6,000 – $8,000 .
