Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in surgical intensive care unit (ICU) is needed in Baltimore, Maryland. This position involves providing specialized care to post-surgical and trauma patients within a busy surgical ICU. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Surgical (ICU Surgical)
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: RN License, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, strong Surgical ICU experience (at least 2 years), previous travel ICU assignments (at least 2), experience caring for trauma, transplant, vascular, gastrointestinal, orthopedic/neurosurgery spine, and general surgery patients, current Surgical ICU experience, and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as EPIC.
- Certifications: BLS, Critical Care Certification, Trauma Course, ACLS.
- Additional Information: Orientations are scheduled for the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. Float responsibilities may be required to areas with similar skill sets. The schedule includes working 3 out of 6 weekends, with 2 availability calls within the 6-week schedule, and as needed holiday coverage. Candidates must verify prior employment with any Johns Hopkins facilities and ensure a minimum of one year since last Johns Hopkins employment if previously employed there.
