Residential Renovation Construction Estimator

The Estimator will oversee budgeting, developing cost estimates, and development of construction schedules and presenting the results in a work breakdown format suitable for use by the Client, Project Manager, and Project Team.

The ideal candidate will be a reliable, career-oriented individual with experience in residential and commercial remodeling that can oversee multiple projects from all aspects, including design, estimating, billing, and execution. This is a base salary + commission full time position.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee multiple projects and manage all aspects, including design, estimating, billing, and execution
• Develop accurate cost estimates and construction schedules, presenting the results in a work breakdown format suitable for clients, project managers, and the project team
• Allocate resources efficiently for assigned projects, working closely with office staff and field crews
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, negotiating reasonable order costs, and expanding the pool of reliable subcontractors
• Complete all necessary paperwork and administrative tasks related to jobs and office work

Qualifications / Experience:

• Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and subcontractors
• High standard of integrity and professionalism in all interactions
• Strong competence and high aptitude required for accurate cost estimating and project management
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the residential construction industry, specifically in estimating
• Cost estimating experience is required (experience with estimating software a plus)
• Experience with construction project management software is preferred
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, and excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong negotiation skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment and manage deadlines with attention to detail
• Schedule:
• This is a full-time position. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some evening and weekend work possible.
• Travel:
• Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area travel may be expected.
