Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform thorough mental health evaluations and document findings from initial consultations through to the treatment conclusion.
\n
• Design and implement personalized intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups with diverse mental health needs.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapeutic sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques suited for different client demographics.
\n
• Monitor clients’ progress throughout the treatment process, making necessary adjustments to intervention plans based on their evolving needs.
\n
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and fellow counselors, to ensure comprehensive care.
\n
• Follow up on patients who may require hospitalization, coordinating care with attending physicians to ensure seamless transitions back into outpatient therapy.
\n
• Recognize and intervene to prevent behaviors that could hinder a client’s recovery journey.
\n
• Support family members and primary caregivers, providing strategies to foster a constructive home environment for clients dealing with mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will encompass a diverse client population, including individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. You will be instrumental in creating a safe space for clients to explore their emotions and develop coping strategies, contributing to measurable improvements in their mental health and overall well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• Successful passage of the National Counselor Exam (NCE) or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong foundation in the principles and practices of psychotherapy, with effective interpersonal communication skills.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain comprehensive counseling records.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience with clients facing co-occurring disorders, including mental health conditions alongside addiction or physical health issues.

• Familiarity with the best practices as defined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Knowledge about the pharmacological treatments and their implications for mental health therapy.

• Demonstrated history of successful collaboration within a multidisciplinary care team.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, with additional sign-on bonuses available.
