Job Summary


Our client is seeking a Patient Account Representative responsible for managing accounts receivable and claims management in a medical billing environment. The primary responsibilities include following up on outstanding insurance claims and ensuring accurate reimbursement through coordination with insurance carriers and internal teams.


Key Responsibilities

• Manage and follow up on outstanding insurance claims to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
• Research, resolve, and document claim issues within AdvancedMD.
• Review aging reports and prioritize outstanding accounts for follow-up.
• Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain claim status and resolve billing issues.
• Submit corrected claims and supporting documentation as needed to facilitate payment.
• Monitor claims through payer portals to track payment status and resolve payment delays.
• Investigate denied or underpaid claims, prepare appeals, and collaborate with insurance representatives and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate records within AdvancedMD and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in medical billing or health insurance, with strong knowledge of insurance guidelines and medical documentation.
• Experience working in a large physician practice (50+ doctors) is preferred.
• Ability to work 200+ claims a week and solve problems quickly.
• Experience with AdvancedMD is strongly preferred.
• Texas insurance experience is a plus.

Skills

• Proficiency in AdvancedMD and claims management.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and quick response to inquiries.
