ICU Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12-hour rotating shifts (07:00 - 19:30 / 19:00 - 07:30); primary shift is days with rotating nights based on departmental needs.

Job Description

The ICU Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care to critically ill patients in a team-oriented environment. This position requires adapting to fluctuating staffing needs while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor vital signs
• Manage ventilators, IV drips, and other life-supporting systems
• Provide direct patient care and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic health record system
• Float to other units as needed and participate in emergency response protocols

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in the state of Maryland or Compact License
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting
• Familiarity with Epic charting system preferred
• Charge nurse experience is a plus

Patient Population

The ICU services a variety of patient age groups including adolescents (ages 15-17 if adult-like), adults, and geriatrics with conditions such as sepsis, ARDS, post-operative recovery, and cardiac complications.
