Adjunct, Criminal JusticeSt. Clair County Community College is accepting resumes for part-time instructors (adjunct faculty).If there is not a specific vacancy in your area of interest at this time, your information will be available to the hiring manager for possible future consideration.Classification: Part-Time, on a semester basisFLSA Status: ExemptCompensation: 2026/2027 Academic YearMaster's degree (or higher) rate = $657 – $1,104 per contact hourBachelor's degree rate = $602 - $828 per contact hourContact hours vary depending on course offeringGeneral Information:Teaching assignment may include a full range of undergraduate courses within the Criminal Justice programTeaching responsibilities include teaching, maintaining scheduled office hours, and advising studentsParticipation in developing and improving academic coursesMorning, afternoon, evening and online offerings may be availableTo design and deliver instruction to students.Prepare and deliver academic instruction, including developing syllabi, developing content and administering assessmentsMaintain and submit necessary class records, including early alert and final grade reports and attendance verification for financial aid complianceParticipate in student grade appeal proceduresObserve college calendarPost and maintain conference hoursParticipate in assessment of student learning and assessment reporting according to assessment planBachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related degree (Corrections, Public Administration, Homeland Security, law degree, Political Science, Education, etc.)Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Corrections, Public Administration, Homeland Security, or related degree with at least 18 credit hours of graduate work in Criminal Justice courses preferred4,000 hours non-teaching related work experience in the criminal justice system requiredTeaching experience at the higher education level preferredAll academic degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or universityAbility to maintain good relationships with students, staff, and community members
