Controller

Vaco is partnering with a growing company located north of Hartford to identify a Controller who enjoys being hands-on while partnering closely with executive leadership.This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and providing financial analysis that supports strategic business decisions.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and daily accounting operations
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Perform cost accounting, job costing, profitability analysis, and commission calculations
• Manage multi-state sales & use tax filings and 1099 reporting
• Partner with the CFO on financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvements
• Lead and mentor the accounting team while ensuring strong segregation of dutiesQualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience in accounting or controllership with progressively increasing responsibility
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close
