Business Systems Analyst (Onsite)Evanston, IL Duration: 4–6 Months (CTH)Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate closely with the organization's management team to understand business objectives, mission, and strategic goals.Develop a comprehensive understanding of corporate functions, processes, operations, and IT environments, including how applications support business outcomes.Maintain and update system protocols, procedures, and documentation.Assist in evaluating and selecting external tools, vendors, or resources as needed.Project Management & ExecutionDefine clear project objectives, scope, and deliverables.Develop project plans (including project charters) in alignment with PMI standards.Monitor project progress, track activities, resolve issues, and provide status reports with actionable recommendations.Prioritize initiatives in collaboration with business stakeholders.Business AnalysisElicit and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, process analysis, and use case development.Analyze information from multiple sources, resolve conflicts, and translate high-level requirements into detailed functional specifications.Differentiate between stated user requests and underlying business needs.Produce key deliverables such as: User storiesBusiness Requirements Documents (BRDs)Use cases and workflowsUI/UX inputs (GUI)Reports and system outputsBusiness rules and interface designsCollaboration & CommunicationPartner with stakeholders, developers, and SMEs to define technical solutions and evaluate trade-offs between usability and performance.Challenge assumptions and drive alignment across business and technical teams.Manage project intake and track progress using tools such as JIRA.Document processes, workflows, and SOPs using Confluence or similar tools.Testing & ImplementationSupport development and execution of system testing strategies, including test plans, scenarios, and scripts.Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-release validation.Assist IT teams with smoke testing following system updates, patches, or releases.Perform additional duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.Minimum 3+ years of experience in Business/System Analysis.Minimum 3+ years of Project Management experience.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse team environments.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.Preferred QualificationsPMI certification (highly preferred).Agile/Scrum certification (desired).Experience with SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum).Hands-on experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or TFS.Experience with test management tools and UAT processes.Knowledge of relational databases and ability to write complex SQL queries.Experience working on web-based application projects.Experience managing cross-functional teams, including external vendors.Familiarity with systems engineering concepts.Proven experience delivering SaaS projects (e.g., Salesforce implementations).
