Practice Assistant

Administrative Assistant Cancer Center

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Administrative Assistant to provide front-desk and administrative support within a busy cancer center. In this highly patient-facing role, you will serve as one of the first points of contact for patients, families, visitors, providers, and clinical staff. What Youll Do

• Welcome patients and visitors and assist with check-in, registration, and appointment scheduling

• Answer and route incoming phone calls while providing helpful and professional customer service

• Verify and update patient demographic and financial information

• Collect and process co-payments according to established procedures

• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments while working to accommodate patient and provider needs

• Obtain and enter referrals and assist with necessary follow-up appointments

• Monitor patient flow throughout the practice and proactively address scheduling or timing issues

• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, clinical staff, and other departments

• Provide patients with relevant educational materials and assist with visit documentation and medical record preparation

• Support additional front-desk and administrative responsibilities as needed

What Were Looking For

• 1+ year with previous experience using EPIC

• Experience answering and routing telephone calls

• Experience checking patients in for appointments

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to appropriately handle confidential patient information

• Ability to balance multiple responsibilities in a busy patient-care setting

• Professional, patient, and composed approach when assisting patients and families

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Methuen, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
