This position reports to:
Regional Sales Manager, Electrification US Utility - West

Your role and responsibilities:

ABB is seeking a Utility Named Account Manager - PG&E . This role is responsible to Develop, implement and manage the account(s) strategy focused on growth, profitability and customer satisfaction. Coordinate the sales activities and manage resolution of specific customer problems.

While this is a remote position, strong preference is for a candidate to be in the San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento, CA metro areas.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Develops and executes strategic account plans, including sales targets, growth goals, and executive relationship strategies.
  • Builds strong, long-term customer relationships while serving as the primary point of contact for issues, claims, and coordinated support.
  • Drives sales of products, solutions, and services with a focus on volume, profitability, and creating added value across business units.
  • Maintains deep insight into customer needs, competitive activity, and market dynamics to shape effective sales strategies and responses.
Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and/or Marketing.
  • Sales/Business Development experience working with clients in the utilities and/or energy markets.
  • Strong customer relationship skills is a must; Exceptional analytical skills and leadership abilities.
  • Existing customer relationships preferred
  • Willingness to travel extensively as needed.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in United States.

ABB Installation Products Division (formerly Thomas & Betts), helps manage the connection, protection and distribution of electrical power from source to socket. The Division's products are engineered to provide ease of installation and perform in demanding and harsh conditions, helping to ensure safety and continuous operation for utilities, businesses and people around the world. The Commercial Essentials product segment includes electrical junction boxes, commercial fittings, strut and cable tray metal framing systems for commercial and residential construction. The Premier Industrial product segment includes multiple product lines, such as Ty-Rap® cable ties, T&B Liquidtight Systems® protection products, PVC coated and nylon conduit systems, power connection and grounding systems, and cable protection systems of conduits and fittings for harsh and industrial applications. The Division also manufactures solutions for medium-voltage applications used in the utility market under its marquee brands including Elastimold™ reclosers and switchgear, capacitor switches, current limiting fuses, Homac™ distribution connectors, Hi-Tech Valiant™ full-range current limiting fuse for fire mitigation, faulted current indicators and distribution connectors, cable accessories and apparatus with products for overhead and underground distribution. Manufacturing includes made-to-stock and custom-made solutions.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $163,500 and $261,600 annually and is bonus eligible.
