Job Title: Press Operator – 2nd Shift - ENTRY LEVEL

Job Description

This entry-level Press Operator role on 2nd shift offers a hands-on opportunity to work with injection molding machines and hot presses that produce rubber parts for the aerospace industry. You will receive thorough training to learn how to mold parts according to written specifications, operate presses efficiently, and maintain high quality standards while supporting a highly organized, lean manufacturing environment.

2:30pm to 11pm (OT until 1am)

Responsibilities

• Mold rubber parts according to written specifications and work instructions.
• Set up and operate injection molding machines and hot presses in an efficient and timely manner.
• Remove molded parts from the press at the end of each cycle and place finished product into designated manufacturing tote boxes.
• Clean tools and molds between cycles to ensure proper part quality and equipment care.
• Load presses with materials for each new production cycle.
• Inspect molded parts frequently to verify they meet quality standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain a production rate that meets or exceeds standard production levels while upholding quality expectations.
• Provide accurate and timely production information and counts as required by the production team.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around hot presses and machinery.
• Support a clean, organized, and lean work area in line with facility standards.

Work Environment

The facility produces rubber parts for the aerospace industry using a large number of injection molding machines and hot presses. It operates as a lean six sigma environment and is extremely organized, with clearly designated locations for products, tools, and office supplies. The machines and presses can generate heat, but the facility uses air conditioning units to keep temperatures comfortable and prevent the area from becoming too hot. This is an ITAR-controlled facility, and employees work within defined procedures and standards to maintain compliance. The role is on 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with the possibility of staying until 1:00 AM when needed and working on Saturdays as part of the regular schedule. The environment supports Spanish-speaking employees, and communication can be conducted in Spanish.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
