Tasting Room Host

Job Description:

Support the day-to-day operations, guest experience, and sales efforts of our downtown tasting room and bottle shop, as well as those of our winery partner.

We are seeking passionate, motivated individuals who enjoy connecting with guests and delivering exceptional hospitality and sales experiences. This role is essential to the success of our team and involves collaborating with colleagues, solving problems, improving operational processes, and continually enhancing the guest experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

> Exemplify the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism for the Hospitality & Sales Team, while hosting private, walk-in and trade tastings
> Strong customer service and sales experience with ability to sell wine club memberships and expand the customer database
> Drive direct-to-consumer sales, including wine club conversions and bottle/case sales
> Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
> Participate in opening and closing routines
> Assist with tasks such as inventory, FOH organization
> Participating as needed in daily operations and team functions
> Help in maintaining the condition and appearance of the public areas
> Be a reliable and positive team member.
> Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays. Ideal candidates will have some flexibility to work different schedules, or for special events

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

> Minimum 2 years in a hospitality or sales position, preferably in a bouquet winery
> Knowledge of winemaking processes and varietals, WSET a plus
> Must be at least 21 years of age.
> Valid driver’s license required.
> Knowledge of POS systems, Offset, Shopify.
> Admin experience & Shipping/Logistics experience a bonus
> Understanding of wine regions and vineyards
> Highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
> Possess a genuine passion for wine and the ability to answer wine related questions.
> Task oriented with exceptional attention to detail & ability to problem solve.

Physical requirements:

> Must be able to frequently lift and carry weights of up to 50 pounds at varying frequencies
> Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks
> Ability to stand for long periods of time
