We sell direct to consumer and on Amazon, we run lean, and the people doing the work sit right next to the people who own the company.

Position Summary

The VP of Growth owns new customer acquisition for The Earthling Co. and runs the growth engine end to end: the media, the funnels, the offers, the creative strategy, and the numbers underneath all of it. This is a player-coach role. In the early stage you are hands on the keyboard yourself, personally in the ad accounts, the data, and the tests, not just directing others. As the business scales, you shift toward coaching, building and leading the team that runs day to day execution while you set strategy and own the results. Either way you carry the outcome. The VP of Growth works directly with the founders on a small team, with full ownership of and accountability for profitable growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Own new customer acquisition and the targets that come with it: CAC, payback, contribution margin, and blended return
• Plan, buy, and scale paid media across Meta, Google, AppLovin, and TikTok, plus new channels as they earn their place
• Stay hands on in the ad accounts and the data directly, especially in the early stage, before building and leading the team that runs it
• Own the full acquisition funnel, from the ad to the landing page to the first purchase and into subscription
• Run a consistent conversion rate optimization and testing program across landing pages, offers, and creative
• Lead creative strategy for performance: decide what to test, brief it, and iterate on the ads that bring new customers in
• Conduct market, category, and customer research to ground our offers and positioning in the overall market
• Own measurement and attribution and turn the data into decisions the team can act on
• Manage paid media agency partners today, and build more of the acquisition capability in house over time
• Work closely with our internal marketing team to keep the full customer journey aligned across acquisition and retention
• Build, hire, and lead the growth team as the business scales, shifting from operator to leader over time

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Demonstrated track record scaling a direct to consumer brand well past eight figures, with direct ownership of paid acquisition
• Elite, hands on media buying experience; Meta is second nature, and you're experienced with Google & AppLovin
• Deep command of DTC unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback, contribution margin, and blended return)
• Proven experience building acquisition funnels and running real CRO programs, not surface level tweaks
• Strong performance creative instincts, with the ability to brief and direct creative that converts
• Fluency with modern attribution and analytics tools, and comfort making confident decisions from imperfect data
• Experience with subscription or replenishment businesses and the drivers of repeat revenue
• Experience managing agency partners, and ideally building an in house growth team
• Experience scaling Amazon is a plus
• Experience in personal care, beauty, wellness, supplements, or consumables is a plus
• Highly self motivated with an ownership mindset; thrives with autonomy and accountability on a small team close to the founders
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to turn strategy into action and align cross functional partners
