Business Development Representative

Smart Labor Management

Company Description Smart Labor Management (SLM) is transforming how construction companies manage, track, and optimize their temporary workforce. The company provides a purpose-built labor management platform combined with expert workforce coordination support, giving contractors greater visibility, compliance control, and smarter labor deployment across every job site. SLM centralizes real-time time tracking, labor matching, compliance monitoring, certified agency partnerships, consolidated invoicing, and data-driven labor insights. Rather than replacing staffing agencies, SLM enhances coordination and oversight to improve labor quality, reduce administrative work, and minimize project risk. In a market facing labor shortages and rising compliance demands, SLM enables contractors to turn temporary labor into a strategic advantage from project kickoff through completion. We're growing quickly and looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) who can help build pipeline and create opportunities with construction industry decision-makers. Brentwood, TN (Hybrid) | Remote Considered for Exceptional Candidates What You'll Do Prospect daily through phone, email, LinkedIn, video messaging, and other outreach channels Identify and engage decision-makers within construction companies Conduct discovery conversations to uncover business challenges and determine fit Qualify opportunities and schedule meetings for the sales team Research target accounts and build pipeline Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on outreach strategies Maintain accurate activity and opportunity data in HubSpot Consistently achieve activity, meeting, and pipeline generation goals What We're Looking For 1-3+ years of BDR, SDR, recruiting, staffing sales, inside sales, or business development experience Strong communication, discovery, and qualification skills Comfortable making outbound calls every day Self-motivated, organized, and accountable for results Experience with HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar tools Construction industry experience is a strong plus Experience selling into contractors, staffing, workforce management, MSP, or VMS environments is highly desirable Why Join SLM?
