Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Stroke Stepdown

Weekly Pay (36 Hours)

• Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2,326
• Weekly Taxable Pay: $1,080
• Weekly Non-Taxable Stipends: $1,246

Schedule

• Night Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Floating required as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical Surgical Stroke Stepdown patients
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as ordered
• Care for patients requiring neurological monitoring and complex medical management
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR
• Float to other units as needed based on patient care needs

Requirements

• Active New York State RN License required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience required
• Recent Stroke Stepdown experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (may be obtained prior to start)
• Experience caring for patients with:
  
  • Stroke
  • Altered Mental Status (AMS)
  • Renal disease
  • Dialysis
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Pneumonia
  • Pulmonary conditions
  • General Medical Surgical diagnoses
• Experience with:
  
  • IV Pumps
  • Nasogastric (NG) Tubes
  • Feeding Tubes
