Counselors schedule appointments at times that are convenient for clients, enhancing accessibility to mental health care. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough initial assessments and comprehensive evaluations to develop personalized treatment plans for a diverse client population. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, applying varied techniques tailored to client needs, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy. Engage in collaborative treatment approaches, working alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers to provide integrated care and achieve optimal client outcomes. Maintain meticulous and up-to-date clinical documentation that adheres to ethical standards and legal requirements, ensuring confidentiality and accountability. Pursue continual professional development by attending workshops and staying informed on current research and advancements in clinical psychology and counseling. Patient Population / Client Focus This role caters to a varied client demographic, including individuals, couples, families, and groups facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions. Counselors will utilize their skills to create a safe space where clients feel empowered to explore their feelings and experiences. Qualifications A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field is required. An active and unrestricted professional counselor license (LPC) in the state of Virginia is mandatory. A minimum of 2 years of counseling experience in a clinical or mental health setting is essential to ensure competency in practice. Preferred Experience Experience with evidence-based therapeutic modalities and techniques to cater to diverse client needs. Previous involvement in multidisciplinary team collaborations to enhance holistic treatment approaches. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate patient documentation.
