Certified Medical Coder

Certified Medical Coder Location: Tulsa, OK Schedule: Monday-Friday | Full-Time | Day Shift Pay: $20.00-$27.00/hour (DOE) Position Overview A well-established and respected gastroenterology practice in Tulsa is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Coder to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented coding professional who enjoys working in a collaborative medical office environment. Candidates with gastroenterology coding experience are highly preferred. Responsibilities Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for physician services and procedures Review provider documentation to ensure accurate and compliant code selection Maintain compliance with payer regulations, Medicare guidelines, and coding standards Identify and resolve coding discrepancies prior to claim submission Work closely with providers and billing staff to ensure clean claims and timely reimbursement Stay current on coding updates, payer requirements, and industry regulations Assist with coding audits and documentation improvement initiatives as needed Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance Qualifications Current Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent coding certification required Previous medical coding experience required Gastroenterology coding experience strongly preferred Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and insurance guidelines Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the medical office team Why You'll Love This Opportunity Join a well-established specialty practice with an excellent reputation.
