Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Full Time

Location: Mission Valley, San Diego, CA

Specialty: Podiatry

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)

EMR: Athena

Compensation: $22–$23/hour

Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will support a fast-paced podiatry practice by assisting back office clinical support. It manages clinical patient flow, assists with procedures, and maintains sterile environments. Core duties include rooming patients, updating electronic medical records (EMR), taking vitals and histories, assisting with x-rays, casting for orthotics, wound care, and managing inventory/sterilizing instruments.

Minimum Requirements

• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a medical office setting
• Experience working in back-office functions
• Familiarity with EMR systems (Athena preferred)
• Able to work full-time (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday)
• Must have current MA certificate
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Skills & Abilities

• Able to assist with would-caring, nails spreading, casting and procedure assistance
• Excellent patient care skills
• Ability to maintain accuracy while working under time constraints
• Proficient with suture and staples removal
• Knowledge of EMR system (preferred Athena)
• Team-oriented with the ability to support multiple providers

Essential Job Functions

• Room patients and assist providers during minor in-office procedures
• Take patient vitals and document clinical information accurately in the EMR
• Support approximately 30–40 patients per day across multiple providers
• Check patients out with follow-up plan; manage patient flow
• Enter orders and benefit information into the EMR
• Assist with DME benefit inquiries and documentation
• Maintain compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and quality standards
