In-Book Sales Representative

We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven In-Book Sales Representative to work with our existing customer base and identify opportunities to better protect our customers, their families, and their financial futures. The primary focus of this role is Life Insurance and Financial Services. You will proactively review existing customer relationships, identify needs and opportunities, conduct outreach, schedule appointments, and help customers take appropriate next steps. While Life Insurance and Financial Services are the primary focus, this is a whole-household sales role. You will also identify Property & Casualty needs and opportunities, including Auto, Home, Renters, and Personal Liability/Umbrella coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively work our existing book of business to identify Life Insurance and Financial Services needs and opportunities.
• Review customer households to identify potential protection gaps and changing needs.
• Conduct outbound calls, emails, and consistent customer follow-up.
• Schedule and conduct needs-based customer appointments.
• Ask thoughtful questions to understand customers' families, priorities, financial situations, and goals.
• Identify Life Insurance and Financial Services opportunities and facilitate appropriate next steps based on licensing and authorization.
• Generate Life Insurance applications and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities.
• Meet established activity, appointment, application, and production expectations.
• Identify P&C opportunities, including Auto, Home, Renters, and Umbrella coverage.
• Maintain accurate customer notes, activities, and follow-up.
• Build deeper, long-term relationships with existing customers.

This is an opportunity to build a successful sales career without starting from zero. You'll work with an established book of existing customers and have the opportunity to deepen those relationships by helping customers address important insurance and financial needs.

What We Offer

• Base Salary: $60,000–$72,000 annually.
• Significant Earning Potential: Approximately $110,000–$135,000+ in total annual compensation when performance expectations are achieved.

This position offers an annual base salary plus a competitive performance-based compensation plan. A team member who consistently meets established performance expectations should have the opportunity to earn approximately more based off performance. Actual compensation will vary based on individual production and performance. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.

Qualifications

• Active Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance License
• Active Life & Health Insurance License
• Strong sales, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable with proactive outbound customer outreach.
• Goal-oriented and motivated by measurable results.
• Strong organization, pipeline management, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to confidently discuss insurance and identify customer needs.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Additional licenses, registrations, or certifications may be required depending on the products and services the team member is authorized to discuss, solicit, or transact.

What Does Success Look Like?

This is a proactive sales position. Successful team members consistently work the existing book, identify opportunities, initiate conversations, schedule appointments, follow up, and ask for the business. While you will identify opportunities across the customer's entire insurance relationship, your primary responsibility is growing Life Insurance and Financial Services within our existing book of business. This position is with a State Farm independent contractor agent, not with State Farm Insurance Companies. Employees of State Farm agents must successfully complete applicable licensing requirements and training programs. Compensation: $60,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
