Accounts Receivable Specialist

Top B2B distributor in Holtsville, NY seeks a full-time, 100% onsite Collections Rep. Manage commercial AR aging (30-90+ days) & credit apps. Requires extensive knowledge of B2B experience (no medical).

Responsibilities

Collections & Account Management

• Maintain proactive B2B phone and email communication with beauty school accounts and wholesale distributors to request and pursue payment on past-due balances (30, 60, 90+ days).
• Manage a portfolio of accounts assigned alphabetically.
• Maintain detailed, accurate logs of payment commitments, account updates, and scheduled follow-ups.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and cash receipt reports to maintain portfolio health.

Credit Administration

• Process new credit applications and gather required business documentation.
• Review and independently validate credit references provided by applicants or through credit reporting services.
• Recommend increases or decreases to customer credit limits based on payment history and established company guidelines.
• Collaborate directly with the VP of Credit & Collections when client requests exceed standard credit thresholds.
• Perform other related duties as assigned in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift rapidly.
