Job TitleMaintain all building related systems and the building envelop to ensure the safety of hotel guests, associates, and vendors. Ensure compliance with company Engineering Assumptions/Culture, preventative maintenance programs and procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, Mission Vision and Values as well as all Building/Fire/Health Department codes. Maintain building complex as energy efficiency as possible constantly looking for ways to save energy.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPreparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paintMixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfacesHandling planning and prep work in an efficient mannerPreparing the surrounding area by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messesMoving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the projectRemoving fixtures such as doorknobs and light switch coversTaping off areas as neededCleaning up supplies and replacing fixtures when project is complete to maintain all indoor and outdoor paintingApply protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of building, furniture, equipment and other structuresWashes, scrapes, sands, torches and smooths interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials.Installs, repairs, and maintains drywall, wall texturing and ceiling acoustic texturingDetermines appropriate color for new or replacement applications through matching and tinting of appropriate paint productsOperates compressor, stripping machine, sand blaster, spray equipment and other small powered equipment.Repairs and installs wall vinyl (wallpaper)Identification, safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials.This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform from time to timeRespond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.Exposure to extreme temperatures.Operation of heavy machinery.Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.Perform any other job related duties as assignedQualifications and SkillsHigh School degree or GEDThree years hands-on experience working on minor painting and wallpaper applicationMust have experience with sheetrock, painting and vinyl wall covering.Ability to climb ladders, carry heavy equipment, and stand for long periods of timeHotel experience preferred.Climbing, reading, standing, walking and routinely lifting 25 lbs to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.Effective verbal and written communication skills.
