Join a dedicated team providing inpatient obstetrics and gynecology hospitalist coverage in beautiful Santa Cruz, California. This locum tenens OB/GYN hospitalist role supports a Level III NICU, strong specialist collaboration, and offers the chance to deliver high-quality maternity care to a diverse, mostly low-risk, underserved population.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,720 - $7,200 (competitive locum tenens pay)
• Location: Inpatient hospital call in Santa Cruz, CA (zip 95065)
• Shift: 24-hour in-house hospital call (6-8 calls per month, 7:30am-7:30am)
• Duration: 13 weeks, with anticipated coverage up to 6 months
• Setting: OB/GYN Hospitalist / Laborist Department (inpatient obstetrics)
• Start Date: June 22, 2026 (as soon as credentialed)

• Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in OB/GYN (BC highly preferred)
• Active California medical license required
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency
• DEA registration, BLS and ACLS certifications
• Clean malpractice history and current/ recent laborist experience
• Self-query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation
• Bilingual providers (Spanish/English) strongly preferred for this community
• Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN clinical experience; inpatient labor & delivery experience preferred

• Provide inpatient hospital call coverage for deliveries ( 60-65 births/month; 25-30% C-section rate)
• Manage and perform vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections; assist with urgent GYN surgeries as needed
• Monitor patients on Pitocin and remain onsite while Pitocin is being administered
• Collaborate closely with ultrasonographers, anesthesiologists, perinatologists, and neonatologists
• Deliver culturally competent care to mostly low-risk, underserved patients in Santa Cruz
• Document clinical care and communicate effectively using Cerner EMR
• Participate in multidisciplinary care, escalation, and transfer processes when appropriate
