Today, The Kinetic Group is a part of the Ammo+ division of The Czechoslovak Group (CSG), which holds a diverse portfolio of companies in the defense, security, automotive, aerospace and rail industries.As we continue to invest in and expand our steel case manufacturing capability, we are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with hands-on experience in high-volume steel component processing.This role will play a critical part in building internal expertise in steel, helping guide heat treatment, forming processes, and equipment decisions while reducing reliance on external consultants over time.This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and is based out of our Anoka, Minnesota office.What You'll Do:Lead development and optimization of steel processing operations, including forming and heat treatmentProvide technical expertise in: Annealing and tempering, Heat treatment cycles and atmosphere control, Steel drawing and forming processesEvaluate and recommend furnaces, forming equipment, and production systemsPartner with external consultants and vendors to assess and implement best practicesTroubleshoot manufacturing issues related to material behavior, defects, and process variationImprove process consistency in high-volume production environmentsSupport development of internal standards for steel processing and qualityExperience You Bring:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in high-volume steel manufacturing or processingHands-on experience with: Heat treatment (furnaces, cycles, atmosphere control), Annealing and/or tempering, Steel forming or drawing processesStrong understanding of steel material behavior in production environmentsYou Might Have:Experience in cold heading, wire forming, or fastener manufacturingBackground in Ammunition or Hunt/Shoot IndustryEquipment selection or commissioning experienceExperience troubleshooting material or metallurgical defectsFamiliarity with continuous or high-throughput processing systemsWork Environment:Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives.
