IT Support Specialist (Level 1)

Contract Help For IT Team

Our IT team is hiring contract help working through a backlog of Mac computers. This is a hands-on, hardware-focused role: you'll erase and restore Macs, update their statuses in our inventory system, and ship them out. The work is well defined and queue-driven, and you'll have a clear process to follow from day one. When there is no device lifecycle work in the queue, you'll pitch in on general IT support: tier 1 Zendesk tickets, our IT Support Slack channel, in-person walkups in the office, and IT tasks during employee onboarding. This is a 3 month contract with potential to extend. Fully onsite, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. We are hiring one person in downtown Manhattan, NY and one in Tempe, AZ.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Erase and reinstall (E&I) Mac computers using DFU mode and restore software such as Apple Configurator
• Update device statuses and records in Oomnitza, our inventory management system
• Receive, inspect, package, and ship Mac computers
• Track your work in Zendesk

Secondary Duties (when lifecycle work is quiet)

• Help with onsite A/V or technical issues
• Resolve tier 1 Zendesk tickets (password resets, basic troubleshooting, equipment requests)
• Support our IT Support Slack channel
• Support in-person walkups in the office
• Support IT aspects of employee onboarding
• Other functions as needed

Required Experience

• Experience working with Mac hardware
• Strong attention to detail, especially with inventory records
• Comfortable with repetitive hands-on work and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Able to work independently and flag issues when something looks off

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with Zendesk or Oomnitza
• Brings a positive, collaborative attitude and remains composed during busy periods
• A dependable team player who contributes to a supportive and enjoyable work environment

Additional Details

• 3 month contract with potential to extend

• Two openings: one in downtown Manhattan, NY and one in Tempe, AZ
