CNC Machinist OpportunityMid Continent Engineering is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our team! We are looking for a candidate that has horizontal CNC set-up experience. This is a 1st Shift- 6 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday opportunity.Mid-Continent has been a supplier to first-tier OEMs within the medical, aerospace and defense industries for decades. Mid-Continent Engineering stuffs the armed forces supply chain with products of our capabilities such as precision machining, aerospace welding, chromate conversion, paint/powder coat finishing, mechanical assemblies, and other design-assist services.A few things we have to offer:Competitive WagesMedical, Dental & Vision for employee & family including domestic partners.401kTuition ReimbursementPTO accrual starts immediately.Yearly shoe allowanceReferral ProgramSummary: This position will be responsible for the operation and doing set ups on Horizontals CNC Mill machines.Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:Analyze drawings, sketches, design data of parts to determine dimension & configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, machine speeds and feed rates.Has the ability to operate and set-up horizontal CNC Mill machinesPerform progressive machining operations on a variety of standardized work, having close tolerances and finish requirements.Responsible for checking the first part (in many cases completing production run).Revise program to eliminate instruction errors or omissions.Observe operation of machine on trial run to prove taped or programmed instructions.Communicate any abnormalities in product or equipment.Maintain machine coolant and chip levels.Perform other duties, as assigned.Education & Experience:High School Diploma or G.E.D. Prefer a degree from a two-year technical school; 10+ years of CNC Machining experience or a combination of both education & experience.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, written instructions, and processing.Epicor ERP Software experience is a plus.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
