Japanese Bilingual Accounting Manager

Position: Japanese Bilingual Accounting Manager (Full-time/Direct Hire) Location: Torrance, CA Work Hours: 9:00am - 6:00pm Our client, a well-established company in the food and beverage industry, is looking to hire a full-time Accounting Manager who is fluent in Japanese. This role is focused on day-to-day accounting operations management and ensuring accounting functions run smoothly and efficiently. The position is hands-on and requires someone who can take ownership of accounting processes, maintain accuracy, and support operational excellence. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who has strong hands-on experience and is looking to take the next step in their career. The company is open to candidates with Assistant Manager or Senior Supervisor-level experience who are motivated to grow into an Accounting Manager role. High-level Accounting Manager experience is not required. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely completion of accounting activities Coordinate with outsourced accounting service providers responsible for front-end accounting functions Manage and monitor accounting processes to ensure smooth and efficient operations Review accounting transactions, reconciliations, and financial records for accuracy Manage month-end and year-end closing activities Prepare and submit monthly financial reports and accounting updates to overseas headquarters Coordinate with overseas headquarters regarding accounting matters, reporting requirements, and financial inquiries Maintain proper accounting procedures, documentation, and internal controls Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial stakeholders during audits and tax filings Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support business operations Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience Accounting experience within the food and beverage industry is required Japanese/English bilingual ability is required; conversational-level proficiency is acceptable Experience at the Senior Accountant level or above is preferred Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting, including general ledger (GL) management, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting Proven experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes Experience with ERP systems and financial accounting software Strong Excel skills (intermediate to advanced level), including financial analysis and reporting functions Strong computer skills and IT literacy, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new accounting systems and business software Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills
